Water Resistant-Gemtree

Gemtree 80 is fiberglass-reinforced cementitious panel board. It does not crack, delaminate or deteriorate after being exposed to moisture and has passed a 30 freeze-thaw cycles. It inhibits fungal growth, is suitable for wet areas (outdoor, bathroom, basement, kitchen). A partition comprised of one single Gemtree 80 can achieve a 5-hour fire-rating and a wall system that includes insulation can achive 4-hour fire rating.

Test results prove that after Gemtreeboard has been immersed in water for one month, it keeps its original shape without deformation or expansion and its dry-wet deforming ratio is 0%. It will not swell, delaminate, warp, or disintegrate when exposed to a wet environment. Remarkably, it is also water vapor permeable and this allows the board to be used as a wall-board in construction where breathable walls are specified.
